Checked 2 November 2026. Falcon prices are from the Arabian Adventures booking page; dnata Travel listed the same Pearl Tour at AED 715.
Prices move. HeliDubai’s terms say it uses dynamic pricing and adds a surcharge on festive dates and holidays, and on the same day its HeliPhotos page advertised a promotion from AED 568 for the 12-minute shared seat. Photos and video are not included in the ticket; HeliDubai sells photo and video packages at a counter at the helipad.
Who runs helicopter tours in Dubai?
The two operators you will meet on most booking sites are HeliDubai and Falcon Heli Tours, the tour brand of Falcon Aviation. Hotel concierges and booking sites resell both, so the name on the listing is not always the company that flies you. Check which operator and which helipad your voucher names.
HeliDubai flies five routes, all from its helipad inside Dubai Police Academy, opposite Mall of the Emirates, and back. Shared flights and private charters use five-seat helicopters, and flights run daily, subject to the weather.
Falcon Heli Tours flies from a helipad at Atlantis The Palm, where guests check in at the White Beach parking area. Its shared flights take up to six passengers, and Arabian Adventures lists four routes of 12 to 25 minutes.
Which helicopter route should you choose?
Pick the 12-minute flight for the essentials, the 17-minute flight to spend longer over the Palm, and 22 minutes or more if you want Old Dubai and the Creek too. These are the routes as HeliDubai describes them; Falcon’s run from 12 to 25 minutes.
- 12 minutes (HeliDubai Iconic Tour): Burj Al Arab, Palm Jumeirah, the Jumeirah coastline, Burj Khalifa, Godolphin and Business Bay. A good first flight (route).
- 17 minutes (Palm Tour): adds The World Islands, Atlantis The Palm and, depending on the approved flight path, Port Rashid and the giant UAE flag (route).
- 22 minutes (Vision Tour): goes on from the Palm to Burj Khalifa, the Dubai Canal, Dubai Creek and the wind towers of Bur Dubai (route).
- 30 and 40 minutes: the longest routes add more of the city, such as Bluewaters Island, Ain Dubai and the Dubai Frame.
- 12 minutes (Falcon Pearl Tour): Palm Jumeirah, the coast, Burj Al Arab and Burj Khalifa, starting over the Palm itself.
Routes can change on the day, because air traffic control approves each flight path. Per minute, HeliDubai’s shared routes all cost about AED 55 to 59, so a longer flight is not better value, only more of it.
Shared or private: which is better value?
For a group of five, private. HeliDubai’s private price for every route is exactly five shared seats: AED 3,550 for 12 minutes against 5 × AED 710. Five people pay the same either way, and a private flight means no strangers on board.
For two to four people, shared is cheaper. A couple on the 12-minute route pays AED 1,420 shared against AED 3,550 private. Seats on shared flights are allocated by weight to balance the helicopter, so neither operator guarantees a front seat or a particular window.
What do you need to know before you fly?
Bring photo ID, arrive 45 minutes early and travel light. These are the main rules from HeliDubai’s terms and Falcon’s listings on Arabian Adventures and Platinumlist:
- ID: every passenger needs a valid passport or government-issued photo ID at check-in.
- Check-in: 45 minutes before the flight. Late arrivals can lose the flight without a refund.
- Weight: HeliDubai’s safety limit is 115 kg per seat, and it will not fly anyone over 140 kg or needing a seatbelt extender. Falcon’s shared limit is 110 kg. Give your real weight when you book, because both weigh you on arrival and a wrong figure can cost you the ticket.
- Children: from age 2, with their own seat. Children aged 2 to 12 must fly with a parent or guardian.
- Pregnancy: HeliDubai asks for a doctor’s certificate from seven months. Falcon may accept passengers up to 32 weeks and advises seeing a doctor first.
- Bags and cameras: large bags go in lockers. Phones and ordinary cameras are fine; iPads, selfie sticks, HD camcorders and lenses over 400 mm are not allowed without written approval from the Dubai authorities.
- Clothes: nothing loose that the rotor wash could catch, such as long scarves, and flat shoes rather than heels.
- Alcohol: anyone who appears drunk can be refused without a refund.
When is the best time of day for a helicopter tour?
There is no fixed best hour, so pick a clear day first and the time second. Haze and dust soften the view of distant towers, and HeliDubai says routes and departure times can change with the weather or air traffic control, so a slot can move on the day.
A morning slot is cooler for the 45-minute check-in and leaves the rest of the day free if the flight is pushed back. A late-afternoon slot in the cooler months gives warmer, lower light for photographs. In summer, the shortest wait in the heat matters more than the light.
Mind the cancellation terms when you choose a date. HeliDubai charges nothing if you cancel more than 48 hours ahead, 50% between 48 and 24 hours, and the full price within 24 hours or for a no-show. Falcon’s refund window depends on where you buy: 24 hours on Arabian Adventures and 48 hours on dnata Travel. If the weather grounds the flight, both offer a new date or a refund.
Is a helicopter tour worth it?
It is the quickest way to see the Palm’s shape and the whole coast in one go, and its limits are far looser than a skydive’s: anyone from age 2 can fly, at up to 115 kg a seat on HeliDubai. For the same spend you could do other things: a shared balloon flight over the desert cost AED 1,695 with Hero Balloon Flights, and the adventures in Dubai guide compares the rest, from the Skydive Dubai price to the hot air balloon.
Yalla Dunes does not sell helicopter flights; book them with HeliDubai or Falcon. To see the same coastline at sea level, a two-hour yacht cruise from Dubai Marina sails past Ain Dubai and along the Palm to Atlantis, and the half-day Dubai city tour covers the souks, an abra ride and Old Dubai, which the 22-minute route flies over. The yacht rental prices guide compares boats, and the tour cards below show current prices.

Questions
How much is a helicopter ride in Dubai?
A shared 12-minute flight costs about AED 710 to 715 a seat. On 2 November 2026 HeliDubai listed AED 710 for its 12-minute Iconic Tour, AED 945 for 17 minutes and AED 1,770 for 30 minutes, and Falcon Heli Tours’ 12-minute Pearl Tour from Atlantis was from AED 715 on Arabian Adventures. A private HeliDubai helicopter for up to five costs from AED 3,550.
How long is a helicopter tour in Dubai?
Most sightseeing flights last 12 to 30 minutes in the air. HeliDubai flies 12, 17, 22, 30 and 40 minute routes, and Falcon Heli Tours 12, 15, 17 and 25 minute ones. Allow well over an hour in all, because both ask you to check in 45 minutes before take-off for ID checks, weighing and a safety briefing.
Where do helicopter tours in Dubai take off from?
HeliDubai’s flights leave from a helipad inside Dubai Police Academy, opposite Mall of the Emirates, and return there. Falcon Heli Tours flies from its helipad at Atlantis The Palm, with check-in at the White Beach parking area. Check the helipad on your voucher, because resellers sell both operators’ flights.
Can children go on a helicopter tour in Dubai?
Yes, from the age of 2. HeliDubai and Falcon Heli Tours both require children aged 2 and over to have their own seat, so no child can sit on a lap, and children from 2 to 12 must fly with a parent or guardian. Children pay the same seat price as adults on the listings we checked.
Is there a weight limit for helicopter tours in Dubai?
Yes. HeliDubai sets a safety limit of 115 kg per passenger per seat and will not fly anyone over 140 kg or anyone who needs a seatbelt extender. Falcon Heli Tours caps shared flights at 110 kg. Above those limits you may have to buy a second seat or book a private flight. Both weigh every passenger at check-in.
What happens if a helicopter tour is cancelled because of the weather?
You can move the flight or get your money back. HeliDubai’s terms say flights cancelled for bad weather or other factors outside its control can be rescheduled without charge, or refunded. Falcon Heli Tours offers a free reschedule or a full refund. HeliDubai does not pay costs you run up because of a delay, so leave some slack in your plans.
