In short

  • Ain Dubai closed temporarily on 2 March 2026 as a precaution linked to the regional security situation, and we found no announcement that it had reopened when we checked on 2 November 2026.
  • Its official website still lists tickets from AED 145 and hours of 10am to 9pm, but the booking page showed no prices and would not let us choose a date.
  • No reopening date has been announced; the wheel’s previous long closure ran from March 2022 to December 2024.
  • When it runs, one rotation takes about 38 minutes, and anyone under 16 must be with an adult aged 21 or over.
  • Bluewaters itself is open: walk over the footbridge from The Beach at JBR, or see the wheel from the water on a Dubai Marina cruise.

Ain Dubai, the 250-metre observation wheel on Bluewaters Island, is closed for now, and nobody has said when it will turn again. Below is what we found when we checked on 2 November 2026, the ticket prices its website still shows, and what to do nearby in the meantime.

Is Ain Dubai open?

As far as we can tell, no. Ain Dubai closed temporarily on 2 March 2026, one of several precautionary closures in Dubai linked to regional security concerns and guidance from UAE authorities (Travel And Tour World). Gulf News reported on 24 March that it was still closed and that the attraction had not given a reason (Gulf News). Time Out Dubai’s round-up of 18 May said it “remains temporarily closed” (Time Out Dubai).

The picture since then is less clear. Arabian Business wrote on 19 May that the wheel was back on standard hours, basing that on its booking pages (Arabian Business), but we found no reopening announcement from Ain Dubai or in the UAE press after that. On 2 November 2026 the official website still listed its ticket types and daily hours, with no closure notice, yet its booking page priced every ticket at zero and would not move on to choosing a date. Until the operator says otherwise, treat the wheel as closed, and call 800 AMAZING (800 2629464) before you plan a day around it.

When will Ain Dubai reopen?

There is no date. Ain Dubai has not announced one. Attractions that shut at the same time have been coming back on their own timetables: Global Village opened its new season on 14 October 2026 (Global Village), Motiongate at Dubai Parks and Resorts was running Halloween late nights in October (Gulf News), and Wild Wadi was due to reopen on 1 November (Khaleej Times). That shows the city’s attractions are reopening, but it tells you nothing certain about the wheel.

Its history argues for patience. Ain Dubai opened in October 2021, closed in March 2022 for what it called periodic enhancements, and did not reopen to visitors until 26 December 2024 (Wikipedia). If you are planning a trip months ahead, keep it as a maybe and check the official site nearer the time.

How much are Ain Dubai tickets?

The official website lists four experiences, from AED 145 for a place in a shared cabin to AED 1,260 for a private cabin. These are “from” prices shown on 2 November 2026 while the wheel was closed, so expect them to be confirmed or changed when it reopens.

Experience What it includes From
Ain Dubai Views Shared cabin, 360-degree views, interactive displays before boarding AED 145 (USD 39.48)
Ain Dubai Views Plus Views, plus snacks and drinks and a fast queue AED 195 (USD 53.10)
Ain Dubai Premium Views, plus lounge access, priority access and soft drinks or mocktails AED 265 (USD 72.16)

Views Family Pass Two adults and two children aged 3 to 12 AED 415 (USD 113.00)
Views Plus Family Pass The same group, on Views Plus AED 560 (USD 152.48)

Listed 2 November 2026 on the official ticket pages. Dollar figures use the fixed rate of AED 3.6725 to USD 1. Adult tickets are for ages 12 and over and child tickets from age 3, with a separate infant ticket for under-3s. One adult on a family pass must be at least 21.

If a booking platform offers you Ain Dubai tickets while the wheel is closed, read the cancellation terms before you pay.

How long is the Ain Dubai ride, and what are the rules?

One full rotation takes about 38 minutes, and Ain Dubai asks guests to arrive 30 to 60 minutes early (Ain Dubai FAQ). There are no toilets in the cabins, so go before you board. The wheel moves at walking pace in air-conditioned cabins, and it stops in sandstorms, rain, strong wind or a technical fault.

  • Children: all ages are welcome, but anyone under 16 must be with an adult aged 21 or over.
  • Food: you cannot bring your own; food and drink bought at the lounge or kiosks can go into the cabin.
  • Hours when open: the plan your visit page lists 10am to 9pm daily, with last admission at 8:15pm.
  • Size: 250 metres from the ground to the top cabin, with 48 cabins (Wikipedia).

How do you get to Bluewaters and Ain Dubai?

Bluewaters is the island just off the JBR beachfront, and the easiest way there is on foot: a footbridge of less than 300 metres runs from The Beach at JBR to the island (Bluewaters). The other routes Bluewaters suggests:

  1. Metro and bus: take the Red Line to Jabal Ali station, then the F57 bus to the island.
  2. Water bus: board at the Dubai Marina Mall marine transport station for Bluewaters. Bluewaters puts water bus fares at AED 7 to AED 70, depending on the route and the seat.
  3. Car: follow the signs for Bluewaters from Sheikh Zayed Road after Dubai Marina Mall and use the underground car park. When the wheel was running, Ain Dubai ticket holders got up to four hours of parking.

For how the metro, tram and nol cards work, see getting around Dubai.

What can you do near Ain Dubai instead?

Bluewaters itself is open, so you can still walk under the wheel, stroll the island and eat there; Bluewaters’ own site points to places such as Brass Monkey, for games and drinks, and the L’ETO café (Bluewaters Dubai). During the Dubai Fitness Challenge, which runs from 31 October to 29 November 2026, Squatwolf is holding free classes on a floating platform at Bluewaters, with the wheel as the backdrop (The National).

Cross back over the footbridge for The Beach at JBR, one of Dubai’s busiest public beaches, with free toilets, showers and changing rooms, loungers and umbrellas for hire, and watersports from parasailing to banana boats. It was among the beaches still open when Condé Nast Traveller Middle East checked on 26 October 2026, while an oil spill had closed public beaches in Sharjah, Umm Al Quwain and Ras Al Khaimah (Condé Nast Traveller). For something faster, see the jet ski guide.

If what you wanted was a view from high up, the observation decks at Burj Khalifa are the obvious substitute; Burj Khalifa tickets has the levels, prices and sunset timing.

Can you see Ain Dubai from a boat?

Yes, and from the water you see the whole wheel against the Bluewaters and JBR skyline. Shared speedboat tours of 60 to 75 minutes from Dubai Marina pass JBR, Bluewaters and Ain Dubai (speedboat tour guide), and dhow dinner cruises from the Marina sail past Bluewaters and the wheel (dhow cruise guide). The RTA water bus from Dubai Marina Mall to Bluewaters is the low-cost way onto the water.

For a private boat, the 1-hour Marina cruise leaves Dubai Marina, runs along JBR and circles Ain Dubai on Bluewaters, and the longer charters carry on to the Palm and Atlantis. The Dubai boat tours guide compares the options, and things to do in Dubai covers the rest of the city.
