UAE residents get 15% off the Silver pass, which made it AED 169. For repeat visits there is a Silver Season Pass at AED 249 for 90 days, and annual passes at AED 500 for adults and AED 400 for children.

What does each Dubai Aquarium pass include?

Every pass includes the 48-metre Aquarium Tunnel on the ground floor and the Underwater Zoo on Level 2; the higher tiers add activities and perks.

Silver

The Aquarium Tunnel, the Underwater Zoo with its Rainforest zone, and Penguin Cove, plus an AED 20 voucher for the aquarium shop, which needs a spend of at least AED 40 on the same day. Children under 15 must be with someone aged 15 or over.

Gold

Everything in Silver, plus a glass-bottom boat tour, fish feeding, a submersible simulator dive, an AED 20 food and drink voucher, and 30% off the animal encounters other than the birds and reptile sessions. Gold is not sold for children under 2 or for pregnant guests.

Platinum

Everything in Gold, plus skip-the-line entry, one free animal encounter, a mini souvenir, two digital photos in the tunnel, an optional private guide and a Play DXB voucher. The same age and pregnancy limits apply.

Animal encounters

The encounters are also sold on their own: AED 130 for the penguin, otter or King Croc encounter, AED 100 for rays, sloths or the shark trainer session, and AED 50 for birds or reptiles. If one encounter is what your children really want, Silver plus a penguin encounter comes to AED 329, against AED 399 for Platinum.

Can you see Dubai Aquarium for free?

Yes, the main tank. The aquarium’s 10-million-litre tank stands on the ground floor of Dubai Mall with its front panel facing into the mall, so you can watch the sharks and rays without a ticket, and it can be seen from three floors of the mall (Wikipedia). When the aquarium opened in November 2008, that panel, 32.88 metres wide and 8.3 metres high, earned a Guinness World Record as the largest acrylic panel (Gulf News). The aquarium says the tank holds more than 140 species, including over 300 sharks and rays (Dubai Aquarium).

A ticket buys what the free view cannot. The 270-degree tunnel runs 48 metres through the tank, 11 metres below the surface, with rays and sharks passing overhead. Upstairs, the Underwater Zoo has 40 displays across its Rainforest, Rocky Shore and Living Ocean zones, from piranhas and giant catfish to otters, as well as the penguins. What are Dubai Aquarium’s opening hours?

The aquarium is open every day of the year: 11am to 9pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 9pm on Saturday and Sunday, with last entry at 8:15pm (visitor’s guide). It says timings can change, and Penguin Cove’s hours vary by season. You can buy tickets at the counter or online in advance to skip the ticket queue.

The address is The Dubai Mall, Doha Street, off the first interchange of Sheikh Zayed Road. For the metro and parking, the Burj Khalifa ticket guide explains how to reach Dubai Mall.

How long should you allow at Dubai Aquarium?

About two hours for a Silver visit. The aquarium puts the tunnel at 15 to 30 minutes and the Underwater Zoo at 45 minutes to 1.5 hours, longer if you stay for the presentations (FAQ). On Gold and Platinum, the glass-bottom boat ride adds 15 to 20 minutes; book it at the boat entrance on Level 2 as soon as you arrive, because the aquarium warns of long waits otherwise.

  • You can stay all day on your ticket, within opening hours.
  • There is no re-entry: a ticket is good for one entry, so do your mall errands first.
  • Photos and video for personal use are fine, but flash is banned in marked areas.
  • Feeding presentations run through the day; ask staff for the times.

How do you combine Dubai Aquarium with Burj Khalifa?

Buy a combo and do both on the same day. They are in the same mall, and the aquarium has no time slot. On the aquarium’s site, the Dubai Aquarium + At the Top combo cost AED 339 for adults and AED 279 for children aged 3 and over, with Levels 124 and 125 of Burj Khalifa. Bought separately, a Silver pass and a standard-time At the Top Silver ticket at AED 189 come to AED 388 for an adult, so the combo saves AED 49. At the Top’s own booking site listed its At the Top + Dubai Aquarium package at AED 319 on the same day, so compare both for your date and time before you pay.

How the aquarium’s combo works:

  1. Pick your At the Top time first. The deck ticket is valid only for the date and time printed on it.
  2. Arrive at At the Top 15 minutes before your slot; latecomers are not admitted.
  3. Visit the aquarium at any time on the same day, before or after the deck.
  4. Buy at least one adult ticket with any child ticket. Under-3s go free, and under-16s must stay with an adult.

The combo terms also say large bags, pushchairs, sharp items and electronics are left at a counter, and that no outside food or drink is allowed. The Burj Khalifa ticket guide explains sunset timing and peak-hour prices for the deck.

Is Dubai Aquarium worth it?

For families with young children, or as a cool break on a hot afternoon, Silver is a good two hours. Children over 2 pay the full price, so the 4 For 3 Pass makes a real difference for a family of four. If you only have half an hour, the free view of the main tank from the mall gives you the sharks and rays without a ticket. Gold and Platinum suit animal lovers who will use the boat, the feeding and the encounters.

Dubai has a second big aquarium: the Lost World Aquarium at Atlantis, sold with or without the waterpark (Aquaventure tickets). For other air-conditioned options, see indoor things to do in Dubai, and Dubai with kids plans whole family days.

The aquarium also fits an afternoon after a morning in old Dubai: the half-day Dubai city tour picks up at 9am and covers the spice and gold souks and an abra ride, with photo stops at the Dubai Frame and Burj Al Arab. For more ideas, start with things to do in Dubai.

Questions

How much is the Dubai Aquarium ticket for a child?

A child aged 2 or over pays the same as an adult for the Silver pass: AED 199 on the official site when we checked on 2 November 2026. Children under 2 go free on Silver, but Gold and Platinum are not sold for under-2s. On the At the Top combo, children aged 3 and over pay AED 279 against AED 339 for adults. Four Silver passes booked together online cost AED 597.

Can you see Dubai Aquarium without a ticket?

Yes. The main tank faces into the ground floor of Dubai Mall, so you can watch the sharks, rays and shoals through its huge acrylic panel for free, and it can be seen from more than one floor. You need a ticket for the 48-metre walk-through tunnel, the Underwater Zoo on Level 2, Penguin Cove and extras such as the glass-bottom boat.

How long does Dubai Aquarium take?

Plan on about two hours. The aquarium says the tunnel takes 15 to 30 minutes and the Underwater Zoo 45 minutes to 1.5 hours, longer if you stay for the feeding presentations. The glass-bottom boat on Gold and Platinum lasts 15 to 20 minutes. You can stay all day within opening hours, but you cannot leave and come back in on the same ticket.

What is the difference between Silver, Gold and Platinum at Dubai Aquarium?

Silver, at AED 199, covers the tunnel, the Underwater Zoo and Penguin Cove. Gold, at AED 269, adds a glass-bottom boat tour, fish feeding, a submersible simulator, a food voucher and 30% off most animal encounters. Platinum, at AED 399, adds skip-the-line entry, one free animal encounter, a souvenir and two photos in the tunnel. Prices were checked on 2 November 2026.

Is the Dubai Aquarium and Burj Khalifa combo worth it?

Yes, if you want both on the same day. The aquarium’s combo cost AED 339 for an adult, AED 49 less than a Silver aquarium pass and a standard-time At the Top ticket bought separately. At the Top’s own site listed its version at AED 319, so compare the two for your date and slot. The deck ticket is timed; the aquarium can be visited any time that day.

What time does Dubai Aquarium open?

It opens at 11am Monday to Friday and at 10am on Saturday and Sunday, and closes at 9pm every day, with last entry at 8:15pm. The aquarium says it is open 365 days a year, but that timings can change and that Penguin Cove’s hours vary by season, so check before a late visit.
